About this experience

Escape the city and discover one of Mendoza’s most rewarding adventures — a hike with epic views of the Andes and Lake Potrerillos, combined with the rare chance to relax in natural hot springs.

Unlike standard big-bus tours, I keep private groups small (maximum 6 people), so everything feels personal, flexible, and unhurried.

The route is not so much difficult as it is just long (5-6h), and most people with basic fitness can manage it well. Along the way there are a few short sections of easy climbing, which most travelers find fun.

If you prefer something lighter, we can shorten the route to the first viewpoint — already a beautiful spot, making the total hike about 3-4 hours instead of 6.

Things to do in Cuyo

Guide

  • The snow-streaked summit of Aconcagua rising above a dry Andean valley

    Guide

Aconcagua, and what it takes to walk in

At 6,961 m it is the highest mountain outside Asia, and most people who see it do so from a car park on Ruta 7. The trek to Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas is the honest middle ground.

  • Route 7 running west out of Uspallata between bare Andean ridges

    Guide

The Alta Montaña road, Mendoza to the border

Route 7 west out of Mendoza climbs 3,000 metres to the Chilean border past Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca and the Aconcagua lookout. What to stop for, and what the day actually costs you.
