High mountain in the Andes private service

About this experience

Explore the Andes Mountains on a private full-day tour, with a high-end vehicle and a professional guide in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. I chose among four routes from Mendoza:

Cacheuta and Potrerillos: precordillera landscapes, history of the Trans-Andean railway, turquoise water dam, and photo stops.

Villavicencio: Sanmartiniana Route, natural reserve, gardens of the old hotel, and viewpoints of the Caracoles of Villavicencio.

High Mountain with Aconcagua (without Christ): Cacheuta, Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca, Aconcagua viewpoint and Las Cuevas. Between November and April, optional hike to Laguna de Horcones, depending on conditions.

High Mountain with Aconcagua and Christ the Redeemer: same route, with an additional ascent to the monument on the Argentine-Chilean border, subject to road conditions and weather (usually from January to April).

Enjoy nature, history, and Andean views with the comfort of an exclusive service.

Things to do in Cuyo

Guide

  • The snow-streaked summit of Aconcagua rising above a dry Andean valley

    Guide

Aconcagua, and what it takes to walk in

At 6,961 m it is the highest mountain outside Asia, and most people who see it do so from a car park on Ruta 7. The trek to Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas is the honest middle ground.

  • Route 7 running west out of Uspallata between bare Andean ridges

    Guide

The Alta Montaña road, Mendoza to the border

Route 7 west out of Mendoza climbs 3,000 metres to the Chilean border past Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca and the Aconcagua lookout. What to stop for, and what the day actually costs you.
