About this experience

Prepare to be amazed by the unique landscapes and natural wealth that the south of the province of Mendoza has to offer. In this experience, we invite you to tour the incredible settings that combine the majesty of nature with the traces of man in this fascinating region. We will begin our adventure first thing in the morning, embarking on a 230-kilometer journey to the charming department of San Rafael, a jewel of southern Mendoza. There, you will marvel at the imposing Atuel Canyon, where the rocks, carved by time and water, create a spectacle of colors and shapes that seem straight out of a dream. At the Valle Grande Dam, you will enjoy the mystical formations that awaken the imagination, such as 'The Ghost', 'The Valley of the Lost Monks' and the intriguing 'Witches' Table', among many others. After a day full of emotions and discoveries, we will return to the city of Mendoza, taking with you indelible memories of this wonderful excursion.

Things to do in Cuyo

Guide

  • The snow-streaked summit of Aconcagua rising above a dry Andean valley

    Guide

Aconcagua, and what it takes to walk in

At 6,961 m it is the highest mountain outside Asia, and most people who see it do so from a car park on Ruta 7. The trek to Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas is the honest middle ground.

  • Route 7 running west out of Uspallata between bare Andean ridges

    Guide

The Alta Montaña road, Mendoza to the border

Route 7 west out of Mendoza climbs 3,000 metres to the Chilean border past Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca and the Aconcagua lookout. What to stop for, and what the day actually costs you.
